Nashville, Tennessee
As part of an RFP issued by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, three fire stations were designed to fit within the context of the local neighborhoods and each sites' specific challenges.
Wayne Johnson led the design efforts and served as project architect, focusing on specific elements of each site to arrive at a functional, visually attractive design solution for each location. A common design theme included the use of masonry veneer and cast stone banding that allowed each fire station to fit within the local neighborhoods.
The last fire station was recently completed in Joelton, Tennessee. All three stations are LEED Silver certified by the US Green Building Council.
