Nashville, Tennessee
In 2005, the Metropolitan Nashville International Airport Authority commenced design and construction activities to renovate the interior of the airport after almost 20 years. The design concept would focus on the heritage and character of Nashville and this city as a major destination point. Work included the expansion and redevelopment of the terminal, security checkpoint, concourse ABC and the concession areas. Significant improvements included all interior finishes, restrooms, concourse skylights, holding rooms, and the airports information display system (MUFIDS).
Serving as the Project Architect with Thomas, Miller & Partners and joint venture partner Architectural Alliance, Wayne Johnson assisted with the planning efforts, design, preparation of construction documents and construction administration for the $52 million renovation of the Nashville International Airport.
