Wayne Johnson, Owner & Principal of Johnson + Associates, Architects, has over 18 years of experience as the project architect, manager, and lead designer for a variety of project types and sizes including commercial, government, retail, recreational, educational, religious and residential projects around Tennessee.  Wayne is very active with all project phases - a hands-on philosophy to ensure each project meets the requirements established by our clients.

We are an emerging firm located in Goodlettsville, Tennessee focusing on projects within the Nashville area.  Wayne is a registered architect in Tennessee and Kentucky.  He is a member of NCARB (National Council of Architects Registration Board), AIA (American Institute of Architects), USGBC (Green Building Council) and actively participates in Goodlettsville, White House Chambers of Commerce.  We work within a studio environment and focus on our employees professional careers - they are the link to providing exceptional service and creative thinking.

Outside of the work environment, Wayne enjoys being with his family, fishing, football, basketball, reading, research, working around the home, and enjoying each day.  Wayne is a graduate of Indiana State University- were he received his BS degree in Management, Aviation Administration, University of Utah - BS in Architectural Studies, and Miami University - receiving a Masters in Architecture. 

Graduate Architect

Jacob graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Architecture and Minored in History. Jacob is originally from the Nashville area and is proud to be a part of the ever-growing community that he calls home.

Jacob has nearly 5 years of experience as the intern architect/designer for a variety of project types and sizes including: commercial, retail, religious, hospitality, government, educational, and residential projects. Jacob has built up a wealth of knowledge and skill and continues to grow in his profession using his experiences from school, work, and his community outreach. It is his goal to be the person who designs functional, thoughtful spaces for the client's that entrust their vision, dream with him.

Being involved in the community is important to Jacob. He is an associate with the Nashville chapter of AIA (American Institute of Architects), is affiliated with Nashville's Emerging Professionals chapter, and is a mentor in the ACE Mentor Program of America group that introduces high school students in Nashville and beyond to the fields of Architecture, Construction, and Engineering. He has volunteered for the Special Olympics, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and Habitat for Humanity.

Outside of the office Jacob enjoys the outdoors; sports such as football, hockey, and basketball; travelling with his fiance; History; and, most importantly, spending time with family and friends.

Office Manager

Verna takes care of the administrative and office management functions.  Prior to working with Johnson + Associates I Architects, Verna was employed with Vanderbilt University as a Kidney Transplant Coordinator and is a registered nurse, and has been for the past 35 years.  She enjoys family time, helping others, volunteering her time to the White House Area Hope Center, and working on her own jewelry designs.  She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a nursing degree.

Business Development Manager

After graduating from the University of Louisville with her BS in Geography, Ashley went on to get here MA in Global Sustainability from the University of South Florida. She has interned with Spatial Data Integrations, Inc. of Louisville, as a GIS Analyst, and with Clean Water Nashville.

Ashley is passionate about sustainability and believes that sustainable infrastructure can have a great impact on the quality of life and environment. She is currently independently studying design and learning the ins-and-outs of our firm. She is excited to face new challenges as the Business Development Manager.

Ashley is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and has spent time volunteering for the International Bluegrass Museum. She'd like to spend more time volunteering for organizations around Nashville. Outside of work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and reading.

Project Manager

After graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ryan moved to Tennessee and made Nashville his home.  In his professional career he has worked on a variety of projects for both public and private clients.  These projects range from government/civic, educational, business, hospitals and numerous renovations of existing buildings.

Ryan finds it rewarding to work on projects that help serve the community and is proud to have had the opportunity to work on many fire stations, police precincts and higher education facilities.

In order to ensure the success of every project, Ryan believes in providing a well thought out design, thorough and detailed construction documents and maintaining a focus on meeting the client's needs.

Being a LEED accredited professional, Ryan understands the importance of responsibility and environmentally conscious design.  He believes architects are in a unique position to contribute to development in a way that minimizes the effects on the environment.

Ryan enjoys running, biking, baseball and being very involved in dog rescues and volunteering at MACC.
